Sony adds a new product in its active noise control technology that is WH-1000XM4 which is actually an upgrade model of WH-1000XM3 headphones. WH-1000XM4 comes in the same color (black & white), copper accent logo, ports, controls and the same placement of NFC chips and buttons but with several alterations.

Concept & Design

The finish of WH-1000XM4 model is more like matte and rubbery which increases its durability. The package comes with a headphone cable, in-flight adaptor, a USB-C charging cable a carry case. Its earpads are 10% bigger than previous ones and somewhat slimmer that cause less cramping force on crown.

Its dual noise sensor technology consisting of two microphone on each earcup captures ambient noise and transmit data to HD noise cancelling Processor QN1. Working together with Bluetooth Audio SoC it adjusts noise signals. It also contains Personal Noise Cancelling Optimizer for personal use and Atmospheric Pressure Optimizing designed for air travelling. Headphones Connect App allows access to picky sounds like announcements.

Multipoint connection allows to pair up two Bluetooth devices at the same time on the headphones.
Provide battery life up to 30hrs. (NC on) and 38 hrs. (NC off) in a single charge. Whenever battery runs low, 5 hrs. Of battery life can be gained only from 10 minutes of charging.
With its “Precise Voice Pickup” technology, consisting of built-in 5 microphones that optimizes audio processing and delivers clearer calls/voice.
If it’s Speak to Chat feature is enabled through app, the headphones will paused automatically every time you speak and will return to music after 30 seconds of pause. (Right earcup can be double tap to resume quicker).
Proximity sensor and two acceleration sensors helps to detect whether the headphones are being worn or not.
Adaptive sound control function senses the environment around the user and recognizes their locations and behaviors.

Although the competition in the noise cancellation headphones is strong but SONY holds its position firmly by upgrading its new product WH-1000XM4. The features of XM-4 are superb. Good sound quality with more astonishing features.
